Planning workshops in case of maritime crisis on Baltic Sea
Participants of the workshops were, among others, representatives of fire, police service and other entities that are deeply involved in crisis management at regional and national level like inter alia Security and Crisis Management Department - Olsztyn Division, State Fire Service, Police, Military Police – Elbląg Division, Warminsko-Mazurski Border Guard, Rescue Services from Olsztyn, Government Centre for Security etc., and projects DRIVER representatives and partners.
Purpose of the exercise was to present the participants assumptions of Mass Rescue Operation (MRO) scenario on the sea and to discuss actions that should be taken on land to acquire large number of evacuated people (including wounded). During workshops there were discussed important stages of the MRO scenario. Participants established scope of tasks that are necessary to be executed in planning and reacting phase of crisis management process.
During the meeting there was also presentation about PROCeed tool functionalities. Tool is available in DRIVER catalogue.
EXPE 43 is common undertaking of ITTI company – coordinator of projects DRIVER East European Platform, GMV company from Spain which is experiments leader and Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB).
Crisis Information Centre SRC, PAS in cooperation with ITTI company is participating in organization of the demonstration and is leading DISTAFF which is a team of experts from Government Centre for Security and SAR. DISTAFF’s main task is to prepare the scenario and mechanics for the table-top exercise which will use tools from DRIVER catalogue. DISTAFF is also responsible for controlling the demonstration.
