Conference on "Collaboration and exchange of information on missing persons - new technologies"

On May 23, 2017 CIK specialists participated in the 1st Conference on "Cooperation and exchange of information on missing persons - new technologies". The organizer of the conference was the Center for Searching of Missing Persons of the Police Headquarter in cooperation with the Association of Security Experts of the Republic of Poland. The host of the event was the Military Institute of Armament Technology.

The conference was attended by representatives of Headquarter of Police, ITAKA Foundation and search and rescue groups: Voluntary Fire Service, Polish Red Cross and Specialist Rescue Unit s12.

During the conference, the topic of finding missing persons was discussed in relation to the use of open sources of information, international search for missing persons, support possibilities for the National Firefighting and Rescue System, searching for missing persons in the water, as well as the use of emergency management applications.

CIK's presentation "Using satellite imagery in the preparation and implementation of exploration activities" touched upon the practical aspects of using satellite imagery in planning of search and rescue activities.
